Blow away the cobwebs of Christmas and come along to Battlestead Croft to watch our Annual Boxing Day Game, kick off 11am.
Playing for the Vic Roebuck "Hey Baba Reba, Let's Have a Party" Trophy
The rugby is more of a side show for what is one of the highlights of the Burton rugby club calendar. It is a great opportunity to meet up with friends old and new plus a chance to run off some of that Christmas lunch.
As with previous years scratch sides will be selected. On arrival players will draw a ball out of a bag which will indicate whether they enter the home (Presidents) or away (Tweds) changing room. There will be separate draws for forwards and backs so no team has too many fat lads or speed merchants. There are some players who travel back each year for the game and have an allegiance to either Ian or Mark so these players will be exempt from the draw process. Likewise, if so desired family members will be aligned to the same side unless they want to be on opposing sides.
Note: players must be 17 or over and 17 year olds need a signed adult consent form. There is no higher age limit!
Players are asked to meet at the club from 10 am, with kick off at 11 am.
The bar will be open as usual for supporters from 10am to 6.30pm.
