A true club man who not only played the game for many years, but gave so much back, not just to rugby but to many other sports in the town, including rowing and judo.

Always one of the first to pay his membership each new season and even this year from his hospital bed, he ensured that his membership was up to date. A great supporter of events at the rugby club and an even better support to those doing the work behind the scenes. He was always on hand for a chat or a word of advice. John's Funeral is on Tuesday 26th November, 11.30am at St. Mary's Church, Rolleston on Dove, followed by private family committal. Family flowers only, but donations can be made in memory of John for a cause to be chosen by the family. At the families request, please wear a splash of red.
