Some beautiful running from Josh Hart saw him run from one wing to the other, straightening up and putting it down for Burtons first try. Burton still had not really got into the swing and was still a little rusty; some scrappy play from Burton resulted in them conceding their only try of the day. The introduction of Burtons' very own Castrogiovanni in the shape of John Kingston saw a marked change at the set scrum and breakdown in Burton's favour. Midway through the first half the referee after seeing a very high tackle had no alternative other than to ask the Rugby Lions coach to ‘rest’ the offending player. The second half was much like the first but good running from Oliver Corbett taking the ball into the ruck allowed the ball to be fed out to Josh Hart to slot home his second. Burton were still not up to speed but their potential was gradually being realised.
